Raised on the banks of the Mississippi river in Western Illinois.  Paul was inspired to learn landscape photography after seeing the image Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico by Ansel Adams in an old Life magazine in the back of a used bookstore in Davenport, Iowa.

He has studied photography with master photographers Will Clay, Allen Rokach, and Doug Beasely.  Captivated by the work of Eliot Port, Paul primarily works in color.

His work has been exhibited at the Morton Arboretum, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and the Heller Nature Center, and in the Landscape Photography Magazine (UK).

Paul is an enthusiastice and patient insturctor and has been teaching nature and landscape photography for 8 years. He started his photography teaching career in 2015 at the Morton  Arboretum and is currently a photography instructor at the Chicago Botanic Garden.


Lake County is studio for Nature and Landscape photography. Hisimages are inspired by the natural beauty of the woods found in Lake County and commanding Western shore line of Lake Michigan. Paul’s speciality is in working with the abundant water for around Lake County. He believes in seeing with new eyes to capture the beauty of nature found close to home.
